How to get real traffic to your website

By Steve Thomas

The following is a S.E.O plan for getting real targeted and high volume search engine traffic. Certain steps may not be applicable to you, but the order is important.

It always helps to have a website built from scratch with S.E.O in mind, starting with a new website that is clean cut, has minimum html code and is W3W valid.

Study the keywords very carefully and know them inside out. Find out where the traffic is and target your main keywords carefully.

If your starting a new website, try to get hold of a aged domain, ideally with Google PR and with relevant back links.

If you do buy a aged domain make sure its related to your particular field. Search for the domain name in all major search engines to check it has not been banned.

Next, make sure you get your website up as quickly as possible and start name you pages closely to you main target keywords, target one keyword per page if you can.

When using one page to target a keyword, the most import factor is the page title and the relevancy of the content on the page.

The more keywords you select and the more pages you have, the better off you will be. Your best tactic is to target as many keywords as you can.

You will need some real quality content pages for you site, but regularly add as many pages as you can frequently. You should have lots of intelligent interlinking between pages.

The next critical factor is the number and quality of back links you have to your website. This is the most important part of your S.E.O campaign, get them pointing to your home pages and inner pages.

The best way to build your back links is slowly and steadily. Its crucial that you get your anchor text within links just right. Using the formula here will reap dividends for your S.E.O campaign.

A good variety of the anchor text you use, as well as mixing it with you keywords will make it look natural and organic.

Get links form sites related closely to yours as possible, even if partly related it will be valued more by search engines.

If the site you get the link from is not in the same niche as yours, if the page is relevant it will still be give more value to your back link.

Get your links from many different sites, not ones owned by one person or a network of sites. The sites you get your links from should be from on different I.P address, DNS servers or locations.

All the steps mentioned will get you results, but you need to follow them closely. The best advice I can give you is to find a quality S.E.O to do all the above for you. - 15790
