Doing things together is paramount in any relationship. Compatibility becomes secondary; for you will simply drift apart if the only thing you do together is hidden in the dark. Opposites indeed attract, but similarities cause a stable attraction as well.
My girlfriend and I have struggled to keep ourselves together at the start. I was in office work at the time, and she was more liberated from the trappings of the metro. With our lifestyles very different, we just couldn't keep pace with each other.
One night, though, I chanced to notice an interesting piece of jewelry she was wearing. It wasn't made of anything expensive as far as I could tell, but we weren't really dressed to go anywhere at the time. I inquired about it, and she simply said that she had made it by herself. As it turned out, she had a knack for making elegant pieces of jewelry for herself and her friends.
That's when something clicked in my head. Being the business-minded guy that I am, I decided to try and convince her to sell her crafts at a crafts fair. I could be the manager; I'll be the one to talk to people so that a stall could be organized. All she has to do was come up with enough of a supply, and then we'll be in business.
That was two years ago, and now our relationship is stronger than ever. We have started from a small part-time business to a full-blown job. I constantly go to the Florida Fairs website, look for the ideal venues for us, and talk to the event organizers to work out the best deal. On the other hand, she maintains friends on a more personal level; knowing and going out with other craftspeople that sell their wares. - 15790
