Montana Finances

By Ian Kleine

Montana has an estimated worth of twenty six billion dollars in state products alone, during the past six years. The PCPI or per capita personal income six years ago was at twenty five thousand dollars. These figures were rapidly increasing over the years, and as of today, the figures were expected to have risen by at least five percent of the original numbers.

Montana is an agricultural state, with a lot of produce to support itself and the country's needs as well. Most of its farm produce are sugar beets, oats, wheat, barley, cherries, honey from bees, and potato seeds. Montana maintains cattle and sheep ranching too, which makes for a great part in their income.

The state is also quite known for brewing beer, mead and other home brewed goods, currently ranking as the third largest for income generated from microbreweries. Industries growing in the area include those of lumber and the extraction of minerals, most of which include gold, silver, talcum, vermiculite and coal.

The state also benefits from the from tourism, which is a heavy industry here in Montana. Most of the must-see-places for tourists are Flathead Lake, the Missouri River, the Battle of Little Bighorn grounds, the Glacier National Park and of course, the world-famous Yellowstone National Park.

Montana has at least seven brackets for ranking personal income tax. All of those range from the lowest one, of one percent, to the highest which reaches up till six and ninety of a hundredth percent. There is no sales tax. Most of the property live stock is where the tax is assessed. There is also farm machinery, the equipments, cars and other automobiles, and equipment used for businesses. This value is multiplied by the tax rate to obtain the value needed for paying tax. That then, is multiplied to a mill levy created by various jurisdictions, the city government, the county government, schools, and other public organizations to obtain the final net value. - 15790

Contract Lifecycle Management - You must manage your contracts

By Adam McInnes

Contract lifecycle management on customer contracts is a CFO and Director level responsibility, not a CRM task. Because failure to properly manage your contracts has far reaching and serious consequences for the organisation and individuals involved. Poor contract management impacts directly on revenues and profit margins, and the likelihood of litigation occurring, as well as claims for death and personal injury carrying the risk of jail time for contract managers.

Contract lifecycle management software on the sell side helps us get a better handle on what our organisation has committed to in customer agreements by providing visibility and access to agreements and pre-emptive alerts as trigger points approach. This mitigates our risk of non-compliance.

You are probably not the person who negotiates the agreements, but you might manage delivery to the customer. If this is the case, then you need to know of any special conditions present in the customer's contract. For example, you probably have the right to increase the value of your contract by CPI annually. You will need to provide notice of your intent to increase your rates within a certain number of days prior to the date when the contract rolls over, and if you miss the date, then you miss out on the price increase. There are other triggers that you will need to be aware of and you need systems to track these dates.

You must comply with your obligations to your customers. It is fundamental. You promise then you have to deliver (a contract is a promise). If you don't have a system that monitors deliverables and milestones, then governing your commitments will prove troublesome and items will slip through the cracks. You won't know that you are non-compliant until it is too late. And this non-delivery may mean annoying a customer or worse still, losing one.

Delays in some large contracts can make you liable to pay liquidated damages to your customer as a penalty for late delivery. Late or non-delivery can also lead to termination of an agreement, and possible litigation, costing your organisation millions in lost revenue and damages.

Contract lifecycle management software helps mitigate the risk of non-compliance in your customer agreements by automating your contract management processes for everyday tasks. Contract lifecycle management can make these processes available to your whole organisation providing corporate consistency, accountability, and auditability.

The biggest risk is not knowing what your commitments are. How can you manage your risk if you do not even know what contracts you have? How long does it take you to locate a contract, its amendments, history, and associated correspondence and file notes? Sounds like it?s time to put in a system. - 15790

Building Your Online Business with an Opt-In List

By Steve Blalock

Before revealing the secrets of the trades, here are myths and fallacies that need to be cleared before one indulges into building an opt-in list. These marketing misconceptions could pose an obstacle towards your achieving success from your business.

Not a lot of people use email

Email marketing is one of the most effective marketing methods because almost all people use email. Check on those email fields required to be filled on various forms needed in processing different transactions. A person without an email address is similar to a person without an online home, which is one big shameful truth for this generation.

Email marketing campaigns can offend a lot of people

The not-so secret way to surmount this dilemma is through permission-based advertising. There's no harm in trying after asking for permission.

It's stupid to send email to all the people

The key to this is having a very discerning eye on who to email and who to not email. Better look for some metrics on how to know which group of people would give you high ROI or return on investment.

The Real Deal with Building Opt-in List

After clearing the confusion regarding email marketing myths, here's how one can benefit from employing the power of email marketing campaigns - building an opt-in list.

However, building an opt-in list is not simple.....particularly for the uninitiated. Here is a roundown of tips on how to succeed in this kind of marketing endeavor.

1. Strategic Collection of Data

Know what information from your audiences will help in lowering expenses and/or make sales flourish. Devise a tactic to make people voluntarily provide you with the information necessary to create higher conversion.

Getting a overload of data is not good. Ask only for opt-in, with their full name and email addresses. Make sure that the profiles that you gather are updated to aid in improving the relevance, timeliness and satisfaction from each deal you make.

2. Good Implementation

Old adage says it all - 'action speaks louder than words'. This easily translates to the difficulty one has to undergo during the execution of his or her email marketing efforts. It's a good thing that various methods, often low-cost, abound to hasten and facilitate the building up of one's opt-in database.

Tracking your email marketing results can be very difficult. Technology and relevant sources should be employed in making this aspect of your marketing more manageable. Your high traffic groups of opt-ins with the greatest results should be taken noted of.

The following are the most widely used methods to leverage channels without overspending:

1. Make use of websites.

It is a tool for data collection, providing you with relevant info regarding your email offers. Always use forms that solicit your visitor's email address and consent.

2. Make use of print ads, brochures, TV, radio and direct mail.

These are the more popular ways of marketing aiming to lead traffic to one's site. You may want to ask for signups for email services. Make your website more visible through these media. Offering free electronic newsletters and or rewards program can do well in making it easy to win the nod of your audiences, too.

3. Maximize your sales force.

Customer service associates can help in making you benefit from your email correspondence. Sales people with proper education on how to aid you in this endeavor can very well contribute to higher ROI. Techniques like offering account updates and special programs through email can easily land you those lists of valuable visitors.

4. Don't make your point of sale pointless.

Forms for signup located at cash registers and other high-traffic and highly visible spots can be very excellent ways for your business to collect email addresses. Notification of upcoming sales through their email addresses and names can coax them to supply you with the information you need.

5. Conferences or trade shows can work, too.

Giveaway offers or entries on sweepstakes are great for opt-in to volunteer their contact details.

Caution should be used with these methods and you should focus on earning the trust of your opt-in list instead of simply collecting data for your sole own benefit. Always make sure that the forms that you will use and other methods that you will employ will not necessitate too much fuss to subscribe. This is for people to not be annoyed during the process of data supplication.

With that bunch of information, who can ever go wrong with the feat of building an opt-in list? - 15790

Free Information on Chili Pests

By James Peterson

Cutworms, Feltia subterranea (F.) and .Peridroma saucia (Htibn.) are often severe on newly set plants, cutting them off near the surface of the soil. The smooth, stout, soft-bodied larvae are usually dull- coloured and up to 4 cm long. They can be controlled by poisoned bait. Aphids, particularly the green peach aphid, Myzus persicae (Sulzer), and the potato aphid, Macrosiphum euphorbiae (Thomas), are the most common and widely distributed of the pests of capsicums. Infection can occur in the nursery or hotbed. They are the vectors of virus diseases. It is important to control aphids by dusting or spraying as soon as the first infestation is evident and as often as necessary thereafter.

Crushed red pepper (`pepperone rosso and pizza pepper') is prepared from many hot capsicum varieties and is used in sausage meat, spaghetti and pizza. Chili pepper is a blend of Mexican and Californian capsicums, and chili powder is a mixture containing ground chili pepper, oregano, cumin, garlic powder and other spices. They are not always as hot as commonly believed since some preparations include the milder types of C. annuum.

Flea beetles, Epitrix spp. and Systena blanch., Melsh., can do extensive damage. These jumping beetles are particularly damaging to young plants. Hornworms, Protoparce quinquemaculata (Haw.) and P. sexta (Joh.) devour the leaves of capsicums in northern America. The large green larvae have diagonal lines along the sides and a pronounced horn on the rear end. In small fields they can be controlled by hand-picking, but in large fields dusting or spraying with a suitable pesticide may be necessary. Fennah (1947) says that Phlegethontius sextus (Joh.) is a pest of capsicum in the West Indies. (This is a synonym for Protopace sexta Butl.)

Many cultivars exist and the ease with which those of the same species cross can be used for the breeding and selection of improved cultivars. With the discovery of cytoplasmically inherited male sterility (Peterson, 1958), hybrid F, seed can now be cheaply produced. High temperatures accentuate the sterile condition.

Nomenclature and types Chillies and capsicums The numerous varieties of Capsicum species traded in the dried form are grown in many areas and differ considerably in the size, shape and pungency of the fruit; and have been ascribed various botanical classifications and vernacular names in the literature. Traditionally, the smaller-fruited, more pungent types have been known as chillies while the somewhat larger, mildly to moderately pungent types have been known as capsicums. The former type are valued principally for their high pungency and the latter for their colour in combination with pungency.

In commerce, however, the words 'chillies' and 'capsicums' are often used interchangeably and indiscriminately and this can lead to confusion over the characteristics of the material in question. For example, Japanese Santakas and Nigerian Funtuas possess a moderate degree of pungency associated with capsicums but in the trade they are frequently described as chillies. - 15790
