What To Look For In Examining Web Designer Portfolios

By Stephen Grisham, Sr.

As a business owner, one of the inevitable expenses that you might encounter is the development of an online presence. Whether it be for a full service internet portal to sell your wares or services, or a product information page that will direct customers to your bricks and mortar business, selecting what your online presence will be is important.

As a result, many businesses will look to outside professional web design to develop a page that suits their business needs without breaking their bank. Of course, choosing a design that will represent your brand is an important step in planning for your business. Having an idea of what the professional you hire can do is key.

Successful and experienced web designers will have portfolios that showcase their skill in developing web pages. These portfolios should be highly detailed and contain examples of previous work that relate to your concept of your own emerging business. Look, ask and determine to your own level of certainty of what the professional is really capable.

Initially, you should look for what real world examples of their work that the prospective designer can show you. Demos are good, but real functions and design are always good to see. Business owners who can see pages in action may be more willing to work with a designer.

Also, your designer should have the ability to do a professional web design without having to farm out components of your site to complete the task. A professional who has the creative control on a project all the way through is important to your business.

Good, functional websites should save you time and effort in marketing your business. Clean designs that work and allow you to update and maintain the look and function of the page on a regular basis is key. Good designs should make updating and maintenance a breeze.

Finally, your designer should provide a site that works to your specifications, not theirs. Their vision may not be yours. Their ability to understand your wants and desires, striking the right balance between design and function can make the difference between success and failure.

While you know your own specialized needs, you should be able to communicate those needs effectively in your dealing with web designers. If you keep these guidelines in mind while selecting your designer, you can easily have a great experience setting up a website and have a successful business. - 15790

Never Go Back, Once You've Begun.

By Mr WebbyFied

While thinking today, I began thinking how sad it is that some people begin a journey, be it an online business, or improving their self-confidence, and never manage to follow through completely. Now, it's not so sad because they fell short of their goal, and, while that is bad enough on its own, it is disheartening because people are usually worse off than they ever were before.

I know, it doesn't make sense.

Bear with me.

When you are at the beginning of anything, the absolute beginning, you have no idea of what you don't know. What do you not know? You are not knowledgeable of what you have to know to become proficient in that respective field. You can't see the fine details, and you don't know, yet, what separates the great from the average.

You have no point of reference yet, so you don't know how difficult things are.

When you finally have begun your journey, you begin to realize how uncomfortable you are, and you start to know exactly what it is that you don't know! You try acting on the ideas you have in your head, but you get stuck thinking and you end up taking no action at all! You end up going over idea after idea instead of actually doing any of those ideas.

Do you see the problem?

Now, we will just pretend that you stopped learning at that point. Let's pretend that you quit because it was all much too complicated, and you couldn't get it down pat. There was way too much to learn.

You will be stuck. It is just like taking the Red Pill. Once you've opened up that door you can't unlearn what you already know.

You've go those random thoughts and concepts bothering you when you need focus. The problem is that you can't do anything about them. You never learned how to get a hold of them, because you never learned how to use them properly. They are reminders of the fact that you aren't satisfied with life, and that there is a better way.

These thoughts, that you aren't even using, won't leave you alone.

You can't go back and undo what you did, so you have to go forward. You have to learn to master these ideas, these techniques, these tactics, and that comes through finishing what you started.

Once you continue on that journey, you will begin noticing how a lot of things start to fall in place. You begin understanding concept much more easily, and you implement them more effectively. You still have to think about doing things, and you aren't on autopilot yet, but everything makes more sense than before.

Over time, if you keep putting these ideas into action, you'll get to the point that you use everything you have learned, and you do it all without even thinking about it. You will be doing everything you dreamed of, on auto-pilot. This is where you start understanding the details, and you realize what makes you amazing, and separates you from the average.

You deserve to master whatever it is you have in mind. Also, remember that you don't have to be great at everything. You can just be great at one thing and good at everything else. You can always have someone else pick up that last bit of slack.

Until next time, continue taking the Red Pill, and see me in the morning. - 15790

How to Hire a Good Criminal Lawyer

By Amy Nutt

If you are accused of a white collar crime, you will definitely want to consider hiring a good criminal lawyer. While you have the right to a public defender, and one will be appointed for you if you cannot afford to hire an outside attorney, a good criminal lawyer is the best way to ensure that you are well represented in court. Since your liberty is at stake, hiring a good criminal lawyer is not something to take lightly.

Create a Short List

Start the process of choosing a criminal lawyer by creating a short list of good potential candidates. You can use online searches or the phone book to find some options in your area. Visit the websites of the lawyers you are considering, and see if they have expertise in the particular area in which you are being prosecuted. You can often find this information in the lawyer's biographical profile on the website.

Once you have a name, search for that name online. Do not visit the lawyer or firm's website again, but see if there is any other information about the attorney. Perhaps he has written some articles or been mentioned by others online. This can either provide comfort to you that you have chosen a good attorney, or help you avoid someone that is less than professional.

You can also visit your local paper's website to search the paper's archives for the lawyer or firm's name. This will allow you to see if the lawyer has had any publicity, good or bad, for recent cases.

Finally, if you have any special needs, such as a limited English vocabulary, consider searching for a lawyer who can cater to these. You need to be able to communicate effectively with your lawyer throughout your case.

These tips will help you narrow down your list to two to four lawyers. Once you have done this, you are ready to contact the lawyers directly to choose the right one from your short list.

Make a Phone Call

Once you have your short list, make a phone call to try to set up an interview with the lawyer. This may not always be possible, because good criminal lawyers are very busy people and may not have the time for an interview with a prospective client. However, calling the firm will give you a chance to get a feel for the staff. Make sure they treat you with professionalism and common courtesy.

If you can get an interview with the lawyer, take it. Do not tell him too much about your case until you have agreed to work with him, but ask him how he has handled cases similar to yours.

As the lawyer for references, and call those references. This is time consuming, but getting first-hand knowledge about how the lawyer works with people who have been in your shoes is invaluable.

Find out how he is paid, as well. Lawyers usually will be paid by the hour or through an upfront fee, and these rates can vary significantly from firm to firm, so you will want to know ahead of time how much to expect to pay for services. Keep in mind, however, that the cheapest lawyer may not be the best one for your case. On the other hand, the most expensive one may not be best either. Consider the cost as part of the overall picture of the lawyer, and choose the one you are the most comfortable about working with on a daily basis.

Make Your Choice

Make sure that you feel confident that the criminal lawyer Fort Lauderdale you have chosen will handle your case well. Your instincts are invaluable in helping you choose a good criminal lawyer. So do your homework, count the cost, and then go with your gut and hire the lawyer you feel the most confident in at the end of the process. - 15790
