Work From Home Tips #2 - Make 'Work Time

How will you squeeze work-from-home time into your day already packed full of stuff? One of the first things is to identify as best you can, how much time you can give over to your 'home business', then create a work plan, or schedule.

First, set some ground rules with yourself, family and friends. Regardless of whatever you home business is, start adopting the attitude you have a 'business at home' and as such you (and those around you) need to respect this. If you have children at home, you are now a 'working father' or 'working mother', even if your office is "home".

One of the first things to set up is your answering-machine. Use your answering machine consistently to screen calls and prevent interruptions. Learn how to say: "Sorry, I have to work!"... because you do.

Next, set 'office hours' - times when you solely focus on your work. You could decide on regular days and times or, if your life is more unpredictable, identify the times when you will be able to do some work, even if these are different every day.

Structure and being consistent with your 'work times' is key and (this bit is vital) when work time comes around, turn your back on other demands. Don't start washing the car, going to the shops, cleaning the house, etc - go to your work space and go to work! You may find it helpful to set exact times so that you carry on working for an allotted time span.

Draw out a week's agenda or calendar as a Work Schedule and be sure to factor in... - times of day you're naturally most productive - times when there are least amount of distractions - other priorities, like time with partner and kids, - consider other draws on time like making time for health and fitness, and of course social time with your partner and family.

Identify right up front what might knock you off your work schedule and be prepared for those factors; possibly build in some spare time to allow for eventualities that you hadn't planned for, which always crop up in life. Think about what factors could prevent you from achieving the work schedule that week, and try and to build in a 'plan B' if they do crop up. Also be realistic with yourself. If you only have three hours a week to work on your business, then that's what you schedule. Just make the most of that time, and ensure you use every minute in a productive way.

You may be reading this saying "but I can't find any free time?" If that's the case, answer this question honestly to yourself "Which is more important to me - earning an income from home, or all the "other stuff?" Never forget we all have just 24 hours in a day - it's how we each choose to use that time that makes the difference. You need to decide that 'working from home' IS important. I suspect you're filling all your day right now as it is, so If you want work time you'll have to spend less time doing some things, or completely eliminate some activities from your schedule. You won't be the first facing this dilemma - what you need to ask yourself is ... "what am I prepared to give up to give my business time and move it along the road to success?" ...and yes you will have to and cut down on...

...TV-time - aren't there shows you could live without? ...E-mail and Internet surfing - if they are not related to your business. ...Kids' activities - review and consider dropping all but the essential ones (probably some the kids don't enjoy anyway!) ...Shopping - do it one swoop, or order online and have it delivered. ...Cleaning - delegate chores, hire help, create a system

Here are some other terrific ways to free up more time, and just an extra 15 minutes a day can make a big difference: - Practice saying "no" more often - it's hard I know, but it will be an invaluable lesson to getting better control of your time. - If your home role involves doing much of the cooking, then plan menus, prepare food ahead of time and max out your freezer. - Create a regular "Daddy/Mummy Night", when the kids get quality time with their Dad or Mum, while you get to work uninterrupted. - Use a daily/weekly/monthly planner that works for you and your personality (paper, electronic, scraps of paper... just make sure it helps you stay organised). - Schedule regular "work retreats" ...go to a relative's home, or hotel, and work for one or more days without interruption.

For all of us that 'work from home', finding time to work - and sticking to it - is about the most challenging aspect of working from home. It will be an ongoing struggle but the better structured and organised you are, the more likely you are to achieve your weekly work schedule. What Makes MOR Vacations Better Then GRN?

Better is in the eye of the beholder, or the marketer in most cases. There are only so many resorts and so many timeshare properties available to pull inventory from, MOR or Less MOR Vacations and Global Resorts Network are very similar in the product offering. From a pure resort perspective both MOR Vacations and GRN offer their members access to 5000 plus resorts. When you peel back the marketing noise surrounding both companies, there are some real differences however.

One of the most noticeable differences comes in the form of hotweeks. Global Resorts Network offers an overabundance of hotweeks in Asian markets such as Malaysia and Singapore. And this makes sense considering their travel service company was created in Asia and was only introduced to the US more recently for Global resorts Network. In contrast, the hotweeks offered by MOR Vacations appear to be almost solely based in the US, again this makes sense as well since the travel service company was founded in the US. For anyone in other parts of the world there are a few hotweeks here and there for various other countries but both companies lack in international hotweeks. From a pricing perspective MOR Vacations hotweeks begin at $149 and Global Resorts Network hotweeks begin at $298. I wouldn't be surprised to see this change however because Global Resorts Network has been trying to copy as much as they can from MOR Vacations in a struggle to remain relevant. Simple math would dictate who wins here, $149 trumps $289 any time, so the hotweeks winner is MOR Vacations, unless you are interested in the Asian market savings, then in that case you would go with more expensive option.

The price, MOR Vacations has stepped in and set itself apart from the competition by offering a multitude of financing options that GRN affiliates have been requesting for years. GRN has been selling the platinum lifetime membership for $3,000 for a few years, which I believe to be a great price for the value. But one glaring issue has always been that many people requested alternative means of payment of financing and GRN affiliates did not have it to offer. With MOR Vacations these people can not purchase a vacation membership with many different financing options being offered to the consumer. And if the consumer has the money to make the full payment they can purchase the diamond lifetime membership for a price that I slower than the GRN top membership. This has always been one of GRN's glaring flaws, the majority of people that purchase timeshares or vacation memberships etc do so via a form of financing, by not offering that option for so many years they were not opening up the business to retail only sales enough and wound up catering to home business seekers and recruiters only. MOR Vacations affiliates will be able to attack that strategic market much more effectively. To be fair, GRN did announce one new financing option once they realized that MOR Vacations posed a serious threat to their existence, but MOR Vacations still offers many more options. One other key point to note is that both MOR and GRN offer an entry level membership. GRN offers the Gold for $1500 for 3 years and MOR offers the Emerald for $1298 for 5 years. Basic math will tell you which is a better offer. The pricing edge goes to MOR Vacations without a doubt.

The home business opportunity, the compelling home based business opportunity being offered by Global Resorts Network has made many people lots of money courtesy of the perpetual leverage pay plan. The true power of perpetual leverage is that people at the bottom can and do make more money than people at the top. Some of the complaints that were voiced about the compensation plan were geared towards the fact that people just getting into the business were not able to earn commissions on their first sale and someone coming in as a free affiliate would not earn for their first sales. It's a vote for your site, and without the votes, you don't get that Googletrust and you don't get that ranking. Getting the right mix of links is crucial, and how to even get these links is a mystery to most, and a pain in the rear to the rest of us. But with the right effort and knowledge, you can create a logical mix of inbound links that will indicate to search engines that your site is valuable.

Of course, it goes without saying that your site should actually be worthy of the Top 10. So step one is to truly focus on your site from a visitor's point of view, not a search engine's exclusively. Only gaming the system will get you nowhere. It may get you temporary results, or it may get you banned from Google's index, but it will not work long term.

But still, it is a hard fact that is here to stay: the SEO work must be done or your site will end up ignored. Obtaining links, proper structure, not too much flash, fresh content, fresh content, add a blog, directory and articles submitted, press releases, widgets, meta tags, keyword density not too high not too low.
